Welcome to CHC
City on a Hill Church is a vibrant and diverse multisite church that meets across Gauteng.
Modelled after the early church in the book of Acts, we seek to live out authentic Christianity (Acts 2:42-47) as a family of believers, devoted to laying down our lives for God and for one another.
We are ordinary people that have been transformed by an extraordinary love: Jesus! We are Word-based, Holy Spirit-filled witnesses to the world, and our purpose is to glorify God in everything that we do.
Join us as we journey together in reaching our cities, and making Him known…

Giving Generously
Matthew 6:19-21
We serve a generous God who gave His all for us. It is our desire then, to be generous in return: with our time, our talents and our treasures.
Scripture is very clear that believers need to be generous, and that God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor 9:7). It outlines several areas of giving, including tithes, offerings, alms, apostolic giving as well as occasional giving toward specific projects.
We highly value the principles of accountability and transparency in every area of church life, including finances. We are called to be wise and faithful stewards of that which God has entrusted to us. Should you wish to know more about the church and its finances please feel free to contact us.

Communities
A local church is only as strong as the bonds of love that are constantly being developed and strengthened between its people, as we see in the early church of Acts.
For this reason, our communities – also called small groups or home groups – are the lifeblood of the church, and essential to actually being a member. Joining one is as simple as finding out which groups meet in different areas around the city, getting hold of the leader and asking if you can join.
Our Four12 Partnership
We see in Scripture that there were no denominations or networks of churches in the New Testament Church. What was in place were relationships where local churches worked together in partnership with the Apostles to help build healthy churches and plant new ones. We believe that this is God’s timeless blueprint for His Church, and, in line with this, we are part of an apostolic partnership of churches called Four12.
Four12 derives its name from Ephesians 4:12. Scripture tells us that “Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up” (Ephesians 4:11-12, NIV). The Ephesians 4:11 (five-fold) gifts and local churches work together to Equip, Restore and Advance the church that Jesus Himself is building. Four12 is a global partnership of churches that seek to live out authentic New Testament Christianity.
